One has many options when thinking of River fly fishing near Whistler British Columbia Canada. There are a couple streams in Whistler that hold small to medium sized trout. These streams are Fitzsimmons Creek, Green River and the Cheakamus river. If one wants to Target larger fish while fly fishing near Whistler you should visit the neighboring towns of Pemberton and Squamish BC. The reason for this is very clear, both towns noted receive an abundance of Salmon throughout the Summer and Fall months. Salmon leave behind tasty treats known as salmon eggs, trout will travel great distances to eat these. Once trout are eating salmon eggs, they can be easily fooled with a well-presented egg pattern. In past years I have not had great success in Squamish on the dry fly. I find that the fish in Squamish are meat eaters. Typically I’d Target the large resident and migrational Bull trout. It’s not uncommon to see Bull trout in the double digits. These Big Fellas don’t eat off the kids menu, they want big meaty streamers and egg patterns also work well. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable.
