Anderson Lake BC Fishing Report June 18th 2015
Anderson Lake BC fishing Report June 18th 2015. Anderson Lake holds some of the best fishing for Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout and Kokanee in British Columbia Canada. The freshet is starting to recede. There are a ton of post spawn Rainbow Trout in the lake now. In a couple weeks the Rainbow Trout will fill out and be back to there usual selves. This being said they are feeding very heavily on both Salmon fry and Kokanee. Most of the Bull Trout and Rainbow Trout we have been catching are full of fry. Below is a picture of a Kokanee fry that was spit up by a Bull Trout when we were releasing it. You will notice that the fry is partially digested, but it gives you a good idea of the size and color.
Nothing represents Salmon Fry or Kokanee Fry better than the Fraser River Rainbow. The Fraser River Rainbow is only available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods ltd. in Pemberton, BC at 1380 Birch street. How do I know this? Easy, because we helped develop this deadly fishing lure and import them exclusively. The Fraser River Rainbow is easily casted and trolled to represent wounded FRY, which large predator Trout find irresistible. Below is a picture of the Fraser River Rainbow plug. A quick comparison of the size, color, eye and shape will show you why this plug is so deadly. Swing in and get yours today.
The water level has dropped nearly 1 and a half feet in the last week. The water temperature on the surface is now in the mid 60’s. This has made the Kokanee more active and now they can be seen cresting the water throughout the lake. The fishing at the creek mouths has started to slow down as the water recedes. The reason for this is simple, the less water – the less feed – the less fish at the creek mouths. As the water levels fall the trolling only gets better. Below are a few pictures of a few Bull Trout caught June 15th 2015 with our clients. Anderson Lake has incredible fishing, views that include numerous waterfalls and ample opportunities of seeing wildlife. Wildlife that includes Black bear, bald eagles and deer to mention a few.
