British Columbia Fishing Reports and Fishing Guides
British Columbia Fishing Reports and Fishing Guides. As the weather warms up in British Columbia, Canada so does the fishing. The Rivers are in full freshet and this brings a ton of nutrient and oxygen to the lakes. Large Trout congregate at most creek mouths and literally catch everything that resembles feed as it enters the lake. It helps if you have a good food source such as a hatchery or a Salmon spawning channel on a River that enters the lake.
There are also numerous lakes in the Whistler and Pemberton, BC area that have land locked Salmon “Kokanee”. Kokanee spawn each and every year and are a vital food source for large Trout. As fry are flushed out of the creeks with the high water, large Trout key in on them. For this reason we love to strip large minnow patterns at the creek mouths. As the water drops the so does the action, at this point we focus mainly on the Rivers themselves. At this point most Rivers in the Pemberton area become full with Salmon.
Most of the quality creek mouth fishing is done only by boat access. This is where our fly fishing guides shine, not only do we have power boats but we know how and what to use. As a result you have the best fly fishing experience possible. There is limited space for this special fishery, since we only have 2 power boats. For this reason we suggest persons book well in advance. It is not uncommon to catch multiple fish species and land over 20 fish a day. There is a good chance of catching Trout over 10 LBS each and everyday.
