Anderson Lake fishing reports Sept 17 2013
Anderson Lake fishing reports Sept 17 2013. The fishing for Bull Trout has slowed a bit. While the Rainbow trout and Kokanee fishing has been incredible. We have been catching lots of Rainbow trout between 2 – 8lbs. The Kokanee are smaller this year averaging between 10″ – 18″. Trolling has been very good while using small spoons, plugs and apex. Most of the time you can increase your odds with the use of a flasher or dummy flashers. Fly fishing at the mouth of Gates creek has been best with egg patterns. Flesh patterns also work well this time of year. You can expect to catch both Bull Trout and Rainbow Trout at the mouth of Gates Creek. The best Access to Gates creek is through the Red Barn Campground. There is a park use fee payable to the campground. Parking here will save you a long walk through private properties. The Red Barn Campground has roughly 30 campsites, all with a great view of Anderson Lake. The campground offers flush toilets, hook-ups and showers. There is also a great little restaurant that is only open in the Summer months.
Below are a few pictures of Rainbow Trout caught recently on Anderson Lake while trolling. The Pemberton Fish finder offers full and Half day fishing tours on Anderson Lake from April – November. We can arrange helicopter and Float plane pick up and drop off, nothing like arriving in style. On Full day trolling tours we offer a fish catch guarantee or your money back. This is a great lake to get people hooked on Fishing. Come out and see what makes us the Elite Whistler Fishing Guides.
We look forward to fishing with you.
