I occasionally catch myself googling that very question “Where is the best Ice Fishing in BC?”. When you put into aspect, location, proximity and fishing quality it is difficult to Beat Pemberton, BC Canada. The reason is simple, We are located 2 hours North of Vancouver and only 25 Minutes north of Whistler on a well maintained Winter highway. Vancouver has an international airport “YVR” and Whistler has endless 5 star Accommodations and restaurants if that’s what you are looking for. Just down the road, the mountainous village of Pemberton offers plenty of Hardwater options that include multiple fish species and trout that can grow in excess of 10LBS.
If you want to keep it a rustic experience you can do that to. Choose from multiple cabins, some of which are located close to the very lakes we Ice fish. Being as close to Vancouver as we are it is also a great day trip idea. Pack your lunch and hit one of the many restaurants on the way home. If you choose to spend the night locally, there are plenty of other Winter activates to enjoy. Bring your cross country skis and hit the groomed trails at the Beer Farmers. Rent a pair of snow shoes from Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd and tackle the Great Outdoors. Get your fix for speed with Broken Boundary and explore the powder covered mountains in style on one of there new Snowmobiles. The list goes on.

Most importantly, remember you are in pure wilderness when visiting Pemberton and there is a good chance you will see wildlife. In other words, always leave the lakes in better shape than when you arrived, pack it in, pack it out. It is always a special feeling when you think you were the first person there.
