2019 Ice Fishing Report Whistler Pemberton British Columbia Canada
2019 Ice Fishing Report Whistler Pemberton British Columbia Canada. We started the season off with some questionable ice. Now we have some of the best ice I have seen in years. Most of the small lakes North of Squamish and in to the Mountains are frozen. Lakes surrounding Whistler and Pemberton are Solid. So, solid I suggest making sure your auger blades are sharp or be prepared for a workout. Those of us with the “New” electric auger from Strikemaster are loving it. These new electric augers from Strikemaster cut ice faster and are super quiet.

It has been a very busy Ice Fishing season this year and because of that I’ve been struggling to keep my website up to date. I do however keep our social media platforms up to date. Slowly we have been focusing our efforts over to social media and because of this we suggest you follow and like us on Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. The online world is vast and the information is endless. This way everyone can stay up to date and feel free to comment or ask questions. Our social media platforms are all fully interactive and we love to engage our loyal following.

Ice Fishing Lakes to Check out in Whistler and Pemberton
No matter what we say, it is always a great idea to check Ice conditions before venturing out onto a frozen lake. There are far to many lakes for us to stay on top of all Ice conditions at all times. Most people drive right on past Whistler to go ice fishing in Pemberton. This is not the case this year. The Ice fishing in Whistler has been exceptional! Even as a kid I don’t remember the fishing being this good in Whistler during the Winter. There are a few lakes that are closed to Ice fishing in Whistler, so make sure you check the BC Freshwater Fishing regulations.

Nita Lake is one of the smaller lakes in Whistler. It holds an abundant amount of smaller Rainbow trout. Alpha Lake is one of the larger lakes in Whistler. It is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Cutthroat Trout. Trout in this lake can reach 3-4lbs. One of my favorite lakes in the Whistler area is Lost Lake. Lost Lake is a hidden Gem full of Rainbow Trout ranging between 12″ – 17″. The occasional Rainbow will reach 20″. The lake is very photogenic in the Winter months.
