Our fishing guides have 52 bodies of water to choose from that include Rivers and Lakes varying in size. Let’s say that there is no shortage of water in the Southwest coastal mountains of British Columbia surrounding Whistler. All of our Rivers, streams and lakes are glacial fed, this keeps the waters very cold throughout the Summer months and is very important for the 5 Pacific Salmon runs that we receive yearly. Each year Salmon Visit our Rivers and Streams to spawn, in the Spring the Salmon eggs hatch and litter our waterways with tasty treats in the form of Salmon fry. Trout can be easily fooled with minnow patterns while fly fishing and small spoons and spinner that resemble Salmon fry. It’s almost like taking food from a baby!

Most of the Rivers leaving the Larger lakes Surrounding Whistler, BC eventually make there way to the Pacific Ocean. This also is a key point because the Larger Lakes are full of Salmon Fry as well. Similar to an Aquarium, the larger the lake, the larger the fish especially when you have a great food source such as Salmon fry. All of our River and Stream fishing is done by means of walk and wade. The most popular method of fishing the streams and rivers surrounding Whistler is Fly fishing. We also offer spin fishing tours for those of you that do not want to fly fish. There are plentiful fish in our streams year round that include; Rainbow Trout, Coastal Cutthroat Trout, Dolly Varden, Bull Trout and Rocky mountain Whitefish. We also receive all 5 Pacific Salmon in most Rivers surrounding Whistler that include; Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, Chum Salmon and Sockeye Salmon. During the Summer months our Streams come to life with large hatches that last all day and this makes for some of the best dry fly fishing in the World. Trout in our streams range in size and can grow in excess of 24″ and weigh over 6 LBS. The picture above is of a beautiful Sea run Coastal Cutthroat Trout, this is typical size for this species of Trout. The picture below is of a Bull Trout. Bull Trout are very aggressive feeding fish, they will typically strike nearly anything put in front of their face. Bull Trout can grow in excess of 30 LBS.

Lets not forget about the small remote lakes surrounding Whistler, BC. Most of these lakes are accessed by 4 wheel drive trucks and because of their remoteness the fishing is exceptional. Most of these small lakes are stocked annually to keep the fishing very good. In some of these little lakes, Trout can grow in excess of 20″ and weigh as much as 6 LBS. The shoreline is very dense so we provide either pontoon boats or Float Tubes so our clients can gain access to the lakes.
