Ice Fishing with Friends & Families Whistler BC Canada.  People come from far and wide to enjoy the many Winter activities Whistler has to offer.  These include Ice Fishing, Skiing, Snowmobiling, Dog sledding, tobogganing and the Whistler sliding center to name just a few.  When surrounded by the huge snow covered mountains, you will understand why Whistler is called a Winter wonderland.  In November Ice starts to cover the lakes surrounding Whistler and by mid December the ice is typically good for Ice fishing.  There are not too many places in the World that you can Ice fish.  Not just ice fish, but catch quality Trout while ice fishing.  Whistler and neighboring Pemberton, BC has some of the best Ice fishing for Trout that Canada has to offer.  There are 7 species of fish that you can ice fish for in the Whistler areas.  These species of fish include Rainbow Trout, Coastal Cutthroat Trout, Kokanee, Whitefish, Bull Trout, Brook Trout and Dolly Varden.  Bull Trout tops the list for size and can weigh as much as 20 Lbs in the lakes we Ice fish.  Rainbow Trout are close behind, just last ice fishing season we reeled in a Staggering 12 Lbs Rainbow Trout.  Most of the other species will not break 5 Lbs.  A 5 Lb Cutthroat or Brook Trout is still a trophy fish in anyone’s book and will put on an incredible fight.  For people that want quantity over Quality we have a couple lakes that will keep any kid focused on fishing.  These lakes are great for Families with kids and or people that you are trying to get hooked on Ice fishing.
