2015 Pemberton Winterfest and Kids Ice fishing derby Postponed.

Hello Everyone,

Due to less than ideal ice conditions and rain and warm weather in the forecast, we’ve decided to postpone Winterfest, with the exception of Dakota Pearl at the Legion on Friday, Jan 16, until next weekend (Jan 23-25) in an effort to execute the event at One Mile Lake as planned.

We would be looking to condense the event to Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday, depending on the weather next weekend.

We see some cooler temperatures next week which might give us a chance to make smooth ice for skating and Curling for the weekend. Fingers crossed!

The schedule of events would be as follows:

Friday, January 23 – Kick-off Party 4-8pm
Pick-up Hockey
Ice Skating
Bonfire
‘You Roast’ Hot Dogs & S’mores
Dj’s

Outdoor Movie
Fireworks at 8pm

Saturday, January 24 – Winter Carnival
Ice Skating
Ice Fishing Tournament
Curling Tournament (TBC)
Shinny Hockey Tournament
Graffiti Snow Painting
Polar Bear Plunge
DJ’s
Bon Fire
Food Concession
Pemberton Wish Lanterns at 7pm

We will be running a ‘Stay Tuned’ postponed ad in the Pique this week and I will look into having a ‘Stay Tuned’ sticker made for the round-about sign. The date and schedule change information will also be put up on Facebook and the website on Wednesday.
