Can we keep the fish we catch? By law you are entitled to keep the fish you catch. There are regulations for each lake that include size and amount. It is always in our best interests to see fish go back. Because of this we typically ask our clients prior to ice fishing, do you have a means of cooking this fish? If the answer is no, your best option is to release the fish in a timely manner. The last thing we want to see is fish being wasted. Most people are very happy with a quick picture and back they go. If fish are being kept we will only allow for 1 meals worth to be kept. It is always in our best interests to see fish released.
Are Ice huts and heaters provided? Yes, on colder days we bring along an Ice hut and Propane heater. This will definitely take the chill off. An ice hut will also black out the direct sunlight and allow you to view into the water. If the water you are ice fishing in is shallow enough, you will be able to view fish eating your jigs or bait. Very exciting!
