Blackwater Lake Ice Fishing in BC, Canada

Recently we have received just over 2 feet of fresh powder snow.  Blackwater lake road has been plowed and the parking lot is clear of snow.  The fishing has been very good with the bait of choice being worms.  Lure of choice has been a red or silver Zapper.  When using a Zapper, tip it with either a salad shrimp or worm and you will find that the Zapper Jig works better with a long quick jigging motion.  Keep the lure moving for about 30 seconds then let it sit for 5 seconds and repeat.  First try jigging near the bottom, if this does not work try near the middle and finally just under the ice.  The Zapper Jig represents an injured bait fish, the jig will definitely get there attention.  You will find this method of Ice fishing at Blackwater lake very effective.  For more BC Ice Fishing Reports and information about fishing Blackwater Lake, Ice Fishing videos and to hire an Ice fishing Guide visit the Pemberton Fish Finder.
