Coho Fishing Lower Lillooet River Fishing Report<\/h2>\n

Coho Fishing Lower Lillooet River Fishing Report.\u00a0 When referring to the Lower Lillooet River.\u00a0 We are talking about the River section of water between Lillooet lake and Harrison Lake.\u00a0 Fishing in the Lower Lillooet River this time of year can be very rewarding especially with the help of the Pemberton Fish Finder<\/a>.\u00a0 Even after the amount of rain we have had over the past week the river did not rise much.\u00a0 It did although take on some color making it a bit more difficult to catch fish.\u00a0 However, a couple of sunny days will change this.\u00a0 With the water as muddy as it was we were still able to get into 2 Northern Coho Salmon.\u00a0 The mandatory use of single barbless hooks gave the 2 Coho that I had hooked the upper hand.\u00a0 Needless to say I did not get any pictures because it is very difficult to operate a camera and juggle a rod at the same time.\u00a0 There were plenty of Coho Salmon Jumping and making themselves visible.\u00a0 This alone would keep any fisher person fishing in anticipation of catching one of these beasts.\u00a0 We spent most of our time fishing the section of the river known as the Narrows.\u00a0 The Narrows is located near the 23km mark on the Lillooet lake forest service road.\u00a0 Every Salmon heading into the Rivers in Pemberton have to funnel through this area.\u00a0 This makes the Narrows a Hot spot.\u00a0 Although we did not land any Coho Salmon but,\u00a0 we did manage to land roughly 30 Trout.\u00a0 A mixture between Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout.<\/p>\n

Fly Fishing the Lower Lillooet River<\/h2>\n

While Fly Fishing<\/a> the Lower Lillooet River use large colorful patterns.\u00a0 We found that hot pink and hot orange were the key.\u00a0 A few patterns we were using: Autumn Storm, Pink egg sucking leeches, Pink Intruder, Bad Sea Habit orange, Cone-head Popsicle and Cone-head Candy Cane.\u00a0 You will find that these patterns will also work very well for Trout.\u00a0 We were fishing these patterns on 2 handed fly rods.\u00a0 Be prepared for a long day with a single hand fly rod.\u00a0 The water is big, the flies are big and weighted.\u00a0 If you are in the market for a new 2 handed Fly rod we sell Ross Reach Spey Rods<\/a>.\u00a0 They start around $350.\u00a0 I run one and love it!\u00a0 Come on by and put one in your hands at Spud Valley Sporting Goods ltd<\/a>. 1380 Birch Street in Beautiful Pemberton, BC.<\/p>\n

Spin Fishing the Lower Lillooet River for Coho Salmon<\/h2>\n

Spin fishing for Coho at the lower lillooet River at points almost seems a bit easy.\u00a0 Clanking big Spoons such as; Coho spoons size 55, Crocodile 3\/4oz, Kit-a-mat 55 and one of my favorites the #5 Fraser Spinner.\u00a0 The #5 Fraser spinner is only available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods ltd.\u00a0 A Deadly Spinner that is Fish Finder approved.\u00a0 Colors of spoons that have been working best are similar to the flies we were using “Orange + Pink.”\u00a0 When chucking big spoons at the narrows make sure you are hitting the bottom periodically.\u00a0 If you are not hitting the bottom, forget about catching fish.\u00a0 Bring lots of gear because you are bound to lose some if you are fishing them properly. \u00a0 Stop by Spud to stock up.\u00a0 We have spoons at discounted prices that don’t dint the wallet so bad and will keep you fishing longer.\u00a0 Our staff will break down a map and show you a few great spots to fish while you are here.<\/p>\n

In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
