Birkenhead River fishing report August 22, 2013<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Pemberton BC Fishing Report provided by Pemberton Fish Finder.\u00a0 The Birkenhead River is sitting at a very nice level right now. This means good access for wading and of course great fishing. This River has some of the best fly fishing in BC<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/span>The Chinook Salmon are still present and the Sockeye have started their spawning migration upstream. For fly fishing, try minnow patterns on a sink tip as well as stonefly nymphs (smaller nymphs have been working well) and egg patterns. On the dry line try black ant patterns, elk hair caddis and the\u00a0adult golden stonefly (new at spud valley). If you are spin fishing, use medium size spoons and size 5 and smaller spinners. Always have wet hands when carefully releasing these fish. Tight lines!<\/span><\/div>\n

Anderson Lake Fishing report August 22, 2013<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0Pemberton BC Fishing Report provided by Pemberton Fish Finder. \u00a0 Anderson Lake has been fishing well at the creek mouths. Spinners, spoons and plugs have all been producing big Rainbow and Bull Trout. The best results for trolling have been down between 40′ – 60 feet. The Sockeye have started their spawning run up Gates Creek and are not to be targeted but, they have hungry Rainbow and Bull Trout in their wake. There are approximately 3000 sockeye in the spawning channel and 7000 in Gates Creek.\u00a0 On the fly use egg and minnow patterns on a sink tip. Good results on spinning gear have been baited hooks sunk to the bottom using an ample amount of weight and drifted in the current.<\/p>\n

As a young boy, the small town of Pemberton didn't offer the youth many things other than great fishing. So every waking moment I would be seen fishing the local rivers and lakes on a daily basis. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
