Fishing Report Birkenhead River Near Pemberton British Columbia Canada.\u00a0 The Birkenhead river levels are still higher than normal and are receding.\u00a0 Use caution when crossing and always have a clear view of downstream.\u00a0 Do not cross upstream of debris, log jams or downed trees.\u00a0 These can cause troubles if you lose your footing.\u00a0 The Birkenhead still has a little bit of glacial till giving it a greenish tinge.\u00a0 Water is still very cold so make sure to bring your waders along.\u00a0 The fishing has been very good for large Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout.\u00a0 There are still a few Chinook Salmon in the river. \u00a0 Sockeye Salmon should be entering the River any day.<\/p>\n

Top water Fly Fishing<\/a> in the Birkenhead River has picked up.\u00a0 Try using Adult stone flies and Salmon flies.\u00a0 Salmon flies look a lot like adult stone flies except that they have a orange thorax.\u00a0 Tri-winged sedges and elk haired caddis with either olive or tan bodies have been working well.\u00a0\u00a0 We are still using black and golden stonefly nymphs.\u00a0 White Muddlers and streamers have also been working well for the resident Bull Trout.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. As a young boy, the small town of Pemberton didn't offer the youth many things other than great fishing. So every waking moment I would be seen fishing the local rivers and lakes on a daily basis. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
