Birkenhead River Fishing Pemberton BC Canada.\u00a0 The Birkenhead River water levels are now starting to recede and pools are becoming more defined.\u00a0 Although the Birkenhead River is starting to recede, the water is still high and very fast.\u00a0 You will spend a fair amount of time looking for quality holding waters and in some points the water is still be high enough that there is limited shore line.\u00a0 Be very careful if you decide to wade in the river.\u00a0 The Pemberton Fish Finder<\/a> are now starting to offer Guided fishing tours on the Birkenhead River starting today<\/em>.\u00a0 Fishing Tours will run from now till the middle of November.\u00a0 For those of you that would like to learn a bit about the Birkenhead River we offer a price point Fishing tour that runs from 6pm till dark daily.\u00a0 We call this tour the end of the day Birkenhead River tour<\/a>, prices start at $100.\u00a0 The Fly fishing has been very good for large Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout.\u00a0 Spin Fishing is also very good this time of year.<\/p>\n

Birkenhead River has some of the Best Fly Fishing in BC, Canada<\/h2>\n

While fly fishing the Birkenhead River try using minnow patterns, streamers and nymphs.\u00a0 My favorite fly this time of year is either a golden or black stonefly nymph.\u00a0 Before you start fly fishing, roll a few rocks over along the shoreline to find the size and color of the nymphs.\u00a0 This will drastically help your chances of success.\u00a0 Dry Flies work well this time of year but we have found that wet flies will produce larger fish consistently.\u00a0 The Fly fishing will only get better as the water levels continue to recede.<\/p>\n

Spin Fishing is also an effective way of fishing the high waters.\u00a0 Try using small spoons and small spinners.\u00a0 Remember that there is a bait ban on the river and the use of single barbless hooks are mandatory.\u00a0 My favorite lure to use on the Birkenhead River is the Fraser Spinner.\u00a0 This spinner is absolutely deadly and is only available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods ltd<\/a>.\u00a0 The Fraser spinner was developed for fishing swift waters.\u00a0 Stop by Spud and try one today.<\/p>\n

As a young boy, the small town of Pemberton didn't offer the youth many things other than great fishing. So every waking moment I would be seen fishing the local rivers and lakes on a daily basis. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
