There are also a few lakes that are stocked annually with Cutthroat Trout. The lakes in Pemberton are much more remote and typically fish are much larger.  The furthest lakes we fish from Whistler would be just under an hours drive from any resort or accommodation.  Keep in mind that Pemberton itself is a 30 minute drive North of Whistler into the mountains.  A meet in Pemberton at our sports shop, <a href=\"https:\/\/spudvalley.com\/\">Spud Valley Sporting goods ltd<\/a> at 1380 Birch Dr.  Will add at least an hours fishing time to your day and locate you in British Columbia&#8217;s Mecca of Ice fishing. Always check Ice conditions before venturing out on any frozen lake.  Ice fishing has definitely grown in popularity the last few years.  It is common to see persons Ice fishing daily on most lakes in Whistler.  It is always a great idea to check the freshwater fishing regulations prior to ice fishing.  There are a couple lakes that are closed to fishing during the Winter months.  The list below are some of our favorite lakes for Ice fishing in Whistler, BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Nita Lake<\/li><li>Lost Lake &#8211; one of our Favorite lakes in Whistler. Parking is an issue, but well worth it.<\/li><li>Alpha Lake<\/li><li>Showh Lake &#8211; you&#8217;ll need a snowmobile for this lake, loaded with Cutthroat Trout<\/li><li>Lucille Lake &#8211; Brook trout, check the ice here before you venture out. There are regulations for each lake that include size and amount.  It is always in our best interests to see fish go back.  Because of this we typically ask our clients prior to ice fishing, do you have a means of cooking this fish?  If the answer is no, your best option is to release the fish in a timely manner.  The last thing we want to see is fish being wasted.  Most people are very happy with a quick picture and back they go.  If fish are being kept we will only allow for 1 meals worth to be kept.  It is always in our best interests to see fish released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Are Ice huts and heaters provided?<\/em><\/strong>  Yes, on colder days we bring along an Ice hut and Propane heater.  This will definitely take the chill off.  An ice hut will also black out the direct sunlight and allow you to view into the water.  If the water you are ice fishing in is shallow enough, you will be able to view fish eating your jigs or bait.
