While the Rivers in the Whistler and Pemberton area are in full flood the many small lakes are prime for fly fishing. \u00a0All of the small lakes have now turned and the fishing has been great for Rainbow Trout ranging in size from 12″ – 30+”. \u00a0Ivey Lake offers some of the best fly fishing in BC. \u00a0This year we have updated our fleet of float tubes to the New Outcast Super Fat Cat. \u00a0These float tubes are top of the line and our clients are all really enjoying them. \u00a0Our New Outcast boats are very comfortable, safe and agile. \u00a0Like anything there is a short learning curve with float tubes and people are pleasantly surprised how quick they can motor around the lake with little effort. \u00a0Even children find these boats very easy to use.<\/p>\n

There is roughly 20 small lakes to choose from in the Whistler and Pemberton area. \u00a0Most of the lakes are stocked, so this keeps the fishing very good. \u00a0The lakes are stocked with Rainbow Trout and Cutthroat Trout. \u00a0There are a couple lakes that have been stocked with Brook Trout. \u00a0Depending which species you would like to target we will have a lake for you. \u00a0All of our small lakes are located in very scenic locations and are surrounded by dense old growth\u00a0forests. \u00a0Depending on how remote you would like to be, there are lakes that include a short hike. \u00a0These remote lakes see little to zero fishing pressure, making for exceptional fly fishing.<\/p>\n

When it comes to fly fishing small lakes in Whistler<\/a> and Pemberton, one lake stands out. \u00a0Ivey Lake is known as Pemberton’s Trophy lake and it is not uncommon to see Rainbow Trout in excess of 20″ each and everyday. \u00a0Rainbow Trout in Ivey lake grow rapidly and can tip the scale at 6+LBS. \u00a0Fly fishing is a preferred method of fishing this lake and single barbless is mandatory. \u00a0Throughout the day the lake has great hatches making the dry fly fishing very fun. \u00a0We have found that the larger fish in Ivey lake feed heavily on large nymph that include; Dragonfly nymphs and Damsel Nymph. \u00a0If you time an adult damsel fly hatch, you will see large Rainbow Trout jumping 3 – 4 feet out of the water trying to sink their teeth in to one.<\/p>\n

Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish.
