We are super excited to announce that the 2016\/17 Ice fishing season has started and the fishing has been very good. \u00a0With the current cold weather we have received in the last week, the lakes in higher elevations are frozen with sufficient ice for safe Ice fishing. \u00a0You always want at least 4″ of clear ice before you venture out on any lake for Ice fishing. \u00a0Currently, the lake we are ice fishing has 5″ of clear Ice and is gaining a half inch each day. \u00a0It is always a good idea to check the ice before venturing out on to it. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

This year we have added a few new products to our Ice fishing tours that include; a Marcum WIFI Pancam, 2 new gas augers, 2 new 6 man Ice huts, 3 new Ice hut heaters, 2 new 3 man ice huts and a few new ice fishing rod combos. \u00a0We are now able to accommodate groups of 30 persons. \u00a0Ice fishing is a great corporate outing. \u00a0I know that our guides are really enjoying the new Marcum underwater camera, it is a real game changer. \u00a0It is really neat to be able to watch fish eating your lure. \u00a0We have included a short video below.<\/p>\n

Trout in the Pemberton and Whistler , BC area can\u00a0grow in excess of 10 LBS. \u00a0Typically you will see Rainbow Trout around 2 LBS and have an average length between 14″ – 20″. \u00a0All of our Ice fishing tours are fully guided and are private. \u00a0We supply all of your ice fishing equipment, all you need to bring is a valid BC freshwater fishing license and dress for sub zero weather. \u00a0We recommend that you wear warm waterproof boots.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \\\"The Family Business\\\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
