Fish stories are known for stretching the truth. \u00a0Small fish get big, Big fish get bigger, and the stories get more epic with each retelling. \u00a0Sometimes there’s no need for exaggeration, sometimes there’s a helicopter. \u00a0The difference between a good day and a great day fishing is a scenic flight through the coastal mountains of British Columbia. \u00a0Let’s not forget about the Trout fishing, these fish rarely see hooks. \u00a0This makes them very eager to bite almost anything you tie on the end of your fishing line. \u00a0First time fly fishers feel like a pro, simply because you can’t do anything wrong. \u00a0Get your friends and family members hooked on fishing on one of the many high paced, remote alpine lakes surrounding Whistler, British Columbia. \u00a0There is nothing quite like having a lake to yourself for the day that is absolutely steaming with fish.<\/p>\n

We typically wrap up the heli fishing<\/a> season by the end of October or as snow starts to fly in the alpine. \u00a0As the days grow shorter, trout really start to feed\u00a0frantically in\u00a0anticipation for the winter months. \u00a0I’ve had Trout take a fly dangling over the side of my float tube while I searched for another pattern that was less worn. \u00a0The only reason you will typically change a fly is because it has been worn out by repeated abuse. \u00a0 There is no need for a substantial fly selection, simply bring a few locator flies such as black spratleys, \u00a0pumpkin heads\u00a0and\u00a0wooly buggers in a variety of colors. \u00a0Dry fly fishing can almost seem like work just keeping your fly riding high. \u00a0At almost the second your fly hits the water it will boil with trout activity. \u00a0We have found that the larger of trout caught are caught with wet flies.<\/p>\n

Our small flotation devices are called float tubes. \u00a0Float tubes are very comfortable and pack away nice and compact which is important being there is limited space in a helicopter. \u00a0These float tubes gain you access to an entire alpine lake, no fish is safe. \u00a0It is difficult to take in the endless scenery in every direction and the thousand smells of fresh Alpine air between bites. \u00a0At the end of the day or during your lunch, sit back and enjoy a small campfire. \u00a0Going home with the smell of success on your hands and the\u00a0light Aroma of campfire smoke on your clothing is the proof of a Great day.<\/p>\n

In 1976 My Father \\\"Ivan Knowles\\\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \\\"The Family Business\\\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
