With the arrival of Sockeye Salmon this year, the Trout fishing has really taken off. \u00a0Although the number of Sockeye in the Rivers surrounding Pemberton are well below average, the fishing has been very good. \u00a0This year we have been catching larger than average Bull Trout. \u00a0This has been very exciting for our clients, most of which have never caught nor heard of Bull Trout. \u00a0The fins of a bull trout have white leading edges. September is a great month to learn how to fly fish. \u00a0The water is at a safe wading level, the days are cooler and the Salmon are in the rivers. \u00a0Salmon nearly remove the science of choosing the right flies. \u00a0Once Trout start feeding on Salmon eggs, they will do nearly anything to get more. \u00a0At one point last year in the Birkenhead River, I witnessed a large Bull Trout ramming a Sockeye Salmon in the side so that it would drop it’s eggs. \u00a0Once the eggs were dropped it was a feeding frenzy, then repeat. \u00a0While the Salmon are in the Rivers spawning you will definitely want to have a few egg patterns in your fly box. \u00a0If egg patterns are not your style, dry flies have been producing decent top water action. \u00a0Dry flies I would be using include; Simulators, elk hair caddis, yellow humpy and one of my favorites is the Adams. \u00a0All of these flies listed are available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, 1380 Birch Street in Pemberton. \u00a0Spud is also the home of the Pemberton Fish Finder and there is a good chance you will get to chat up one of our guides here.<\/p>\n

Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan.
