As you can see we have been extremely busy and I would like to take this time to say Thank You to all of our new and repeat clients. \u00a0Our clients love that we share our pictures and videos, it’s there claim to fishing fame. \u00a0It also provides\u00a0our potential clients a resource to what we offer. \u00a0To all of our potential clients, notice that everyone is smiling and having a Great time \ud83d\ude09 \u00a0Below we have put together a small fishing report for a few bodies of freshwater that we fish between Whistler and Pemberton BC.<\/p>\n

Ivey Lake Fishing<\/h2>\n

Ivey lake fly fishing in Pemberton BC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ivey lake has been fly fishing very good with lots of Rainbow ranging in size from 16″ – 24″ and weighing as much as 5 LBS. \u00a0The use of barbless hooks is mandatory and bait is prohibited. \u00a0The early mornings and evening fishery has been producing good top water action. \u00a0Most of the top water fly fishing is sight fishing. \u00a0A Trout slurping flies off of the surface will fall victim to a fly\u00a0placed approximately 6′ ahead of the direction traveled. \u00a0Once the fly lands on the water a couple small twitches will stir its interest, fish on. \u00a0We have been having great success with Adult Damsel patterns. \u00a0The use of Barbless hooks makes it a bit more challenging but is a lot better for the fish that are to be released. \u00a0We see numerous fish shake hooks at our clients\u00a0feet. \u00a0Below a client shows you how big the one that got away was. \u00a0 You never lose sleep over the one you land, it’s always the ones you lose.<\/p>\n

Lost Lake Fishing<\/h2>\n

If you are thinking of fishing Lost lake this time of year, you better be ready to get up early. \u00a0Lost lake is a very popular swimming and sunbathing lake for Whistler BC. \u00a0It is also one of the best performers when it comes to catching lots of Rainbow Trout. \u00a0Rainbow Trout in Lost lake range in size from 10″ – 16″ and can weigh as much as 2 LBS. \u00a0It is not uncommon to catch 30 – 40 Rainbow Trout in a 5 hour morning tour. \u00a0The shore fishing is also exceptional and this lake is great for families with small children. \u00a0Fly fishing flies that are hot right now on Lost lake are; Red Carey special, black or green spratley, black micro leech and an Adams dry fly. \u00a0Come out and let’s get your kids hooked on fishing. \u00a0Below is a couple more\u00a0pictures of fishing at Lost lake in Whistler, BC.<\/p>\n

Nita Lake Fishing<\/h2>\n

We are seeing larger than usual Rainbow Trout in Nita Lake this year, hopefully this is a sign of things to come. \u00a0The Rainbow Trout from Nita Lake are as pretty as they get and are very feisty. \u00a0Rainbow Trout in Nita Lake this year are ranging in size from 12″ – 18″ and weigh as much as 1.5 LBS. \u00a0Just this week we had a Bald Eagle steal a Rainbow Trout off of our fly rod, boy that was exciting. \u00a0Our guide Matt just happened to have his GoPro recording his fight and got great footage of the Eagle stealing his fish off of his Fly rod. \u00a0No worries the hook pulled out of the Trout and the Bald Eagle got his lunch, video is below. \u00a0Flies you want to be using at Nita Lake right now are as follows; Pheasant tail nymph, orange Carey special and pumpkin heads. \u00a0Pumpkin heads seem to be the go to fly right now for the Bigger fish in Nita Lake. \u00a0Nita Lake is a great lake for Spin fishing with a small spinner tipped with bait. \u00a0Both powerbait and Worms produce fish after fish. \u00a0Below is a short video and a couple pictures of fishing at Nita lake in Whistler, BC.<\/p>\n

Birkenhead River Fishing<\/h2>\n

The strange cooler than average weather that we have been having in Pemberton, BC has allowed us to fish the Birkenhead River right through the Spring run off this year. \u00a0This is a first for me and all of our guides<\/a> at Pemberton Fish Finder<\/a>. \u00a0The Coastal Cutthroat season is just wrapping up and the Chinook Salmon are just starting to show up. \u00a0The fly fishing for Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout has been good and will continue to get better as the water starts to fall here in the next couple of weeks. \u00a0Once the water falls, the pools and holding waters become more defined. \u00a0While the water is high we tend to fly fish the side channels with small Salmon fly imitations and Stone fly patterns. \u00a0The Birkenhead River is continually changing this time of year, holes that you fished this week may not be there next week or they may become even better. \u00a0We always recommend that you get out and go for a walk, cover some water and always carry bear spray because there is a good chance you will see a bear. \u00a0There has never been a reported bear attack on the Birkenhead River, but you will be amazed how much piece of mind a can of Bear spray will give you especially if you run into one. \u00a0Bear Spray is available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd at 1380 Birch street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0They are well stocked in all your fishing needs, stop by and have them show you a few spots on the map that covers their counter. \u00a0Below are a couple\u00a0fly fishing pictures from the Birkenhead River in Pemberton, BC.<\/p>\n

Mosquito Lake Fishing<\/h2>\n

Man there are some big Rainbow Trout in Mosquito lake. \u00a0For the size of Mosquito lake it produces Rainbow Trout ranging in size from 16″ – 25″ and weighing as much as 6 Lbs. \u00a0Although Mosquito lake is a kill lake the Trout from this lake during the Summer months taste muddy, for this reason we recommend that people release them. \u00a0Best fishing is early morning and evenings because Mosquito lake is also a very popular swimming lake. \u00a0This is a great lake to learn how to fly fish nymphs. As you can see in the picture above there is a ton of structure in the form of; lily pads, downed logs and over hanging brush. \u00a0These areas are key locations to catch large feeding Rainbows. \u00a0Nymphs to try while fly fishing in Mosquito lake are as follows; Dragonfly Nymphs, Prince Nymph, Pheasant Tail, Hare’s Ear and Damselfly nymphs. \u00a0All of these flies will produce trophy sized Rainbow Trout in Mosquito lake. \u00a0Below is another\u00a0fly fishing pictures from Mosquito lake.<\/p>\n

Anderson Lake Fishing<\/h2>\n

July 2016 Fishing Report for Whistler and Pemberton British Columbia Canada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I have a bad habit of saving the best for last. \u00a0Anderson Lake in my opinion is the best fishing lake in British Columbia, Canada. \u00a0There are three sport fish that grow to trophy class status in Anderson Lake that include; Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout and Kokanee. \u00a0Bull Trout can reach a staggering 30 LBS, Rainbow Trout top out at 15 LBS and \u00a0Kokanee that\u00a0tip the scale\u00a0at 4.5 LBS. \u00a0Anderson lake is best fished from a boat and downriggers are a bonus. \u00a0The lake itself reaches depths of 700+ feet and you only need to be a few feet from shore to reach these depths. \u00a0Clients are always amazed by its crystal clear blue water and stunning beauty. \u00a0This lake is great for corporate groups and families because there is never a dull moment. \u00a0It is not uncommon to have multiple double headers in a day. \u00a0In the fall the lake becomes overrun by Sockeye Salmon, these Salmon bring a ton of Trout in their wake from the Fraser River. \u00a0Being tied to the Fraser River is important for the migratory Bull Trout and their spawning. \u00a0There are 4 major creeks that feed Anderson lake, these creeks are very important spawning grounds, a form of nutrient, oxygen and help to keep its waters cold throughout the year. \u00a0These are all key points in growing Trophy sized fish. \u00a0As you can see from the pictures below there are no shortage of quality fish in Anderson Lake.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable.
