BC Fly fishing tips and information<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Remote BC Fly Fishing Tips Gwyneth Lake. \u00a0Gwyneth Lake is located next to the Hurley River forest service road North of Pemberton, BC. \u00a0First thing you notice once you arrive at Gwyneth lake is that it is set in one of the most beautiful setting in British Columbia. \u00a0The lake is\u00a0relatively shallow with lots of shoals,\u00a0structure, lily pads\u00a0that makes it a\u00a0great lake for dry fly fishing. \u00a0The campsite is small, with approximately 6 camp stalls and all facilities are user-maintained. \u00a0All campsites are on a first-come, first-serve basis; reservations are not accepted. \u00a0The sites are very rustic. \u00a0There are log-style tables, rock fire rings and a user-maintained pit toilet. There is no fee. \u00a0There are no other facilities at this park. \u00a0The lake is accessed by a small dirt trail suitable for pontoon boats, belly boats and small car topper boats. \u00a0The use of gas powered engines is not recommended.<\/p>\n

BC Fly Fishing Tips<\/h2>\n

Gwyneth Lake is absolutely full of Rainbow Trout ranging in size from 10″ – 20″ and weighing as much as 3 Lbs. \u00a0It had been roughly 20 years since I had fly fished Gwyneth Lake,\u00a0so I had a bit of work ahead of me before i started fishing. \u00a0First, I combed the shoreline for aquatic life to get my size, pattern and colors. \u00a0I noticed that there was a ton of water boatmen, brown chironomids, damsels and scuds. \u00a0With this in mind I started with a Brown chironomid, on one rod and a water boatmen on my other rod. \u00a0I had instant success With both, but I was not catching anything of size. \u00a0At this point noticed something a bit larger than a Water boatmen swimming in the water that looked a lot like a black Spratley. \u00a0As soon as I made the change to the Black Spratley, the size of fish increased drastically. \u00a0They were destroying the black spratley with vengeance, upon being hooked they would break water hurling themselves upwards of 6′ out of the water. \u00a0I found this very exciting and so did my fishing partner Rick. \u00a0During the evening hours we swapped over to an Adams dry fly and took numerous Trout off of the surface. \u00a0 Make sure you bring some powder fly floatant. \u00a0Loon outdoors makes a great product called “Top Ride”. \u00a0Using this product will cut time false casting to dry flies. \u00a0Below is a few pictures of flies we had success fly fishing Gwyneth Lake. \u00a0All of the flies below are available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd<\/a>. at 1380 Birch street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Stop by the and boys can help you with directions, fly selection, camping equipment and maps.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish.
