Ice fishing \u00a0Duffey Lake in British Columbia. \u00a0Duffey Lake is located on highway 99 approximately 40 Minutes North of Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Nestled in the Scenic Coastal Mountains of BC, this lake holds incredible Ice fishing for Rainbow Trout. \u00a0Rainbow Trout in Duffey Lake are typically small ranging in size from 10″ – 14″. \u00a0On occasion Trout will\u00a0break 16 inches in length. \u00a0Although Rainbow Trout in Duffey lake are not huge, beautiful scenery and non stop action will make up for what they lack in size. \u00a0Duffey lake has great access via Highway 99. \u00a0The road follows the entire southern shoreline. \u00a0In the video and pictures we are fishing at the Eastern end of the lake also known as the Lillooet, BC end of the Duffey Lake.<\/p>\n

When it comes to Ice fishing or fishing Duffey lake, it does not seem to matter what you are using. \u00a0Rainbow Trout seem to be eager to bite nearly anything tipped with bait. \u00a0This day myself and Sheridan Knowles of the Pemberton Fish Finder were using Northland tackle’s Fireball jig and the famous Fish Talk Zapper. \u00a0Both of these jigs were tipped with salad shrimp from the Pemberton Valley Supermarket<\/a>, located in downtown Pemberton. \u00a0We fished a few different depths and found that fish were more actively feeding mid to bottom. \u00a0Simply jig in series of 3 – 4 then let sit for 5 – 10 seconds. \u00a0We found that Trout in Duffey lake were hitting more while the jigs were sitting motionless. \u00a0The jigging motion seemed to attract them from a distance and once they caught the baits scent, they could not resist putting it in their mouth. \u00a0Fish On!<\/p>\n

Duffey Lake is a great lake to introduce Kids and families to Ice fishing. \u00a0It is a high paced, high catch lake that is set in some of the most jaw dropping\u00a0\u00a0scenery that British Columbia has to offer. \u00a0Duffey Lake has minimal human impact and zero pollution which makes it a Great lake to take your fish home to eat. \u00a0You will notice the difference between store bought fish and fish that come from this crisp, clean, sub alpine lake\u00a0immediately. \u00a0If you are needing more help with gear selection or popular fishing spots on Duffey Lake, stop by Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd<\/a>. \u00a0At 1380 Birch street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Spud is well equipped with all your ice fishing needs. \u00a0If they don’t have it, you don’t need it!<\/p>\n

Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish.
