Winter fly fishing Upper Lillooet River in Pemberton BC. \u00a0The Upper Lillooet River is the section of River that flows into Lillooet Lake. \u00a0It originates at Silt Lake and flows South through the Pemberton Meadows, Pemberton and finally dumps into Lillooet Lake. \u00a0The Upper Lillooet River is a slow meandering stream that is easily accessed from Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Most of the fishing is done during Winter, early Spring and late fall due to heavy sedimentation during high waters. \u00a0While temperatures are low, the Upper Lillooet River has a slight greenish tinge and holds an incredible population of Coho Salmon in the late fall. \u00a0In the Winter months expect to catch large resident and migrant Bull Trout and Rainbow Trout while Fly Fishing. \u00a0Spring, is my favorite time to fly fish the Upper Lillooet River. \u00a0Continual waves of Coastal Cutthroat Trout enter the main stem of the Lillooet and Tributaries Throughout the Spring. \u00a0Coastal Cutthroat are very active feeders and grow to a staggering 6.5 LBS. \u00a0Pound for pound Cutthroat are one of the hardest fighting fish in the World!<\/p>\n

Fly Fishing Lillooet River BC<\/h2>\n

While Targeting Bull Trout in the Upper Lillooet River use large White and or Chartreuse flies. \u00a0One of my favorites is called the Triple Threat Streamer<\/a>. \u00a0The Triple Threat Streamer is tied live on FridayNightFlies.com<\/a> you can see the full recipe and fly tying instructions there, A simple swing and strip motion with this fly will yield large Bull Trout. \u00a0Use a 6wt fly rod with a fast sinking tip and a 9′ leader of no less than 5 LBS. \u00a0I usually run 6 LBS tippet because I hate losing flies to monster Bull Trout. \u00a0It is not uncommon to see Bull Trout upwards of 6 LBS in the Upper Lillooet River. \u00a0While targeting Coastal Cutthroat Trout run the same gear just change your fly pattern and use hot colors. \u00a0Coastal Cutthroat Trout love hot pinks, reds, blues and purple. \u00a0One of my favorite flies for Cutthroat in the Upper Lillooet River is a Pink Intruder or Flaming Intruder<\/a>. \u00a0The Flaming Intruder is also tied on FridayNightFlies.com<\/a>\u00a0If you are looking for a great fly selection and helpful advise on where to fly fish. \u00a0Stop by Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd. at 1380 Birch Street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Spud is Whistler and Pemberton’s fly shop and is well stocked in all your fly tying and fly fishing equipment. \u00a0Swing in and say Hello.<\/p>\n

Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish.
