You can start your day exploring one of the many hiking\/biking trails and be on the ocean by the early afternoon!\u00a0Every stream and lake are glacial fed, making the water extremely cold. \u00a0As the streams and rivers pound down through the mountains it takes on a very high oxygen level. \u00a0Trout and Salmon love Cold and well oxygenated waters. \u00a0Most of the smaller lakes surrounding Whistler have a healthy source of aquatic food that include; Dragonfly nymphs, damsel nymphs and freshwater shrimp to name a few. \u00a0This accounts for the rapid growth of Trout in the Whistler area.<\/p>\n

Lost Lake Fishing<\/h3>\n

Lost lake is located just behind Whistler village. \u00a0There is a great trail that surrounds the lake with plenty of dock and shore access. \u00a0Expect to catch Rainbow Trout between 10″ – 16″ and lots of them. \u00a0This is a great lakes for families. \u00a0A simple spinner tipped with a worm or worm and float will produce plenty of Rainbow Trout. \u00a0While fly fishing try using dry flies in the evening. \u00a0Dry flies that include; tom thumb, adams parachute, royal coachmen, black wulff and a mosquito.<\/p>\n

Squamish River Fishing<\/h3>\n

Squamish River is located 30 minutes south of Whistler in the Town of Squamish, BC. \u00a0This large River is home to some spectacular Salmon runs and great Trout fishing. \u00a0This time of year the Pink Salmon fishing is just starting to wrap up. \u00a0This is not a big deal because Coho Salmon are just starting to show up and in a Month the Chum Salmon fishing will be incredible. \u00a0Salmon fishing in the Squamish River typically starts in July and runs through November. \u00a0The Squamish River also gets a decent Steelhead run throughout the Winter months and into the early spring.<\/p>\n

Anderson Lake Fishing<\/h3>\n

This lake is the better part of an hours drive North of Whistler. \u00a0The Drive through the mountainous valley bottoms is very scenic. \u00a0You follow along Streams and Rivers for most of the drive and wildlife is abundant. \u00a0Expect to see Blacktail Deer, Mule Deer, Black Bears and Bald Eagles along your drive. \u00a0Follow Highway 99 North of Whistler 35 KM to a small village called Pemberton. \u00a0From Pemberton you will continue 6 KM North on highway 99 to Mt. Currie. \u00a0In Mt. Currie the road changes from Highway 99 to portage road. \u00a0From Mt. Currie you want to follow the signs that point you in the direction of D’arcy. \u00a0D’arcy is a small settlement that is at the shoreline of Anderson Lake. \u00a0If you follow portage rd. all the way to D’arcy it will dead end at Anderson lake. \u00a0Not hard to find. \u00a0Anderson Lake is best fished by boat. \u00a0There are a few prime locations for shore fishing on Anderson lake. \u00a0One place you should check out is the mouth of Gates creek.<\/p>\n
