Fishing Nita Lake in Whistler British Columbia. \u00a0Although your not likely to break any Rainbow Trout size records, this lake will keep you very busy<\/em>. \u00a0Nita lake is one of the smaller lakes in Whistler, BC. \u00a0Do not let it’s size fool you when it comes to\u00a0fishing. \u00a0The lakes entire eastern shoreline is easily accessed via the valley trail. \u00a0While fishing from shore is very productive, the use of a pontoon boat, canoe or float tube is still recommended. \u00a0If you are going to fish from shore, the creek that feeds the lake at the North end is a sure win. \u00a0The creek that feeds the lake is small in size. \u00a0Bring shoes or footwear that can get wet because you will need to walk into the water to get past the shallow shoreline. \u00a0There is a very well defined drop off at the creek mouth. \u00a0Position yourself just back from the drop off\u00a0so that you do not spook the fish or cast shadows into the lake. \u00a0While fishing Nita Lake use small spinners and spoons. \u00a0Tipping these spoons and spinners with bait will increase your odds. \u00a0I have also had great success using a spinner that trails a fly. \u00a0Fly fishing Nita Lake is very rewarding. \u00a0Nita Lake is one of those lakes that you get your buddies hooked on fly fishing. \u00a0The reason for this is simple, Nita lake is stocked annually with catchable sized Trout. \u00a0The use of these flies for fly fishing Nita lake<\/a> will yield Trout.<\/em><\/p>\n

Wet Flies to use<\/strong>\u00a0–<\/strong> \u00a0Green or black doc spratley, prince nymphs, hare’s ear nymph, dragonfly nymphs and Damselfly nymphs.<\/p>\n

Dry Flies to use – \u00a0<\/strong>Tom thumb,\u00a0Elk Caddis,\u00a0Parachute Adams,\u00a0Royal Wulff,\u00a0Ant and\u00a0CDC Midge Adult (black)<\/p>\n

All of these flies and spinning gear listed above are available at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd.<\/a> located at 1380 Birch street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0Pemberton is a very scenic 25 minute drive North of Whistler on highway 99.<\/p>\n

\"Nita<\/a>
Nita Lake in Whistler<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There are a few parking options for Nita Lake and all of them are pretty good.\u00a0 The dead end of Drew Drive has a room to park just steps from the lake.\u00a0 This is the best place if you have a canoe,\u00a0pontoon boat or belly boat\u00a0to drop in the lake.\u00a0 There is the main above ground and underground parking area in Creekside near the base of Whistler that is convenient and free to use and just a short, 5 minute walk to the lake.\u00a0 Keep in mind that some sections have a two hour time limit on parking.\u00a0 You can also park at the beautiful Nita Lake Lodge parking lot, however you should be staying or eating at the hotel to do that, which of course is a great idea.\u00a0 Just a 5 minute walk from the Nita Lake Lodge is Alpha Lake, where you will find lots of room for parking and Nita Lake Park is just a 10 minute stroll along the beautiful Valley Trail.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
