Ice Fishing Conditions and Report Pemberton British Columbia Canada. \u00a0We now have good Ice for Ice fishing in Pemberton. \u00a0The shoreline ice was damaged from the heavy rain we had last week. \u00a0So be careful getting on the ice, use docks to gain access to the lakes. \u00a0This should be resolved after a few days of cold weather. \u00a0Always test the ice as you leave the shoreline and always fish with a buddy until you feel good about the ice thickness. \u00a0As of Sunday December 14th, 2014 there was 6″s of good clear ice on Blackwater lake. \u00a0We have been Ice fishing Blackwater lake with good success. \u00a0There are tons of Rainbow Trout ranging from 10″ – \u00a020″ and weighing as much as 3 Lbs. \u00a0We were using the Zapper<\/a> and Cyclops jigs tipped with shrimp. \u00a0When Ice fishing Blackwater lake fish near structure this time of year. \u00a0Structure being weed beds, logs, trees and or Drop offs. \u00a0 The drop off tend to start in about 15′ – 20′ of water, you will know you are on it because the weeds clear up.<\/p>\n

Mosquito Lake prior to the rain storm had between 5″ – 6″ of good clear ice. \u00a0This lake has a good dock that will help gain access to the ice. \u00a0It is always a good idea to test the ice this time of year prior to leaving the dock. \u00a0The Ice fishing in Mosquito lake has been great. \u00a0Most of the Rainbow Trout in this lake range between 14″ – 24″ and weigh as much as 5 Lbs. \u00a0This lake is best Ice fished with the Zapper<\/a> tipped with a shrimp.<\/p>\n

As a young boy, the small town of Pemberton didn't offer the youth many things other than great fishing. So every waking moment I would be seen fishing the local rivers and lakes on a daily basis. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
