Fly Fishing the Birkenhead River Pemberton BC Canada. \u00a0Right Now is the time to be Fly Fishing the Birkenhead River<\/a>. \u00a0The Birkenhead River has been fly fishing very good this fall. \u00a0There are now tons of Sockeye Salmon in the River. \u00a0The Chinook Salmon are now dying off. \u00a0Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout are feeding heavily on Egg patterns. \u00a0Egg patterns are easily fly fished with the use of a strike indicator. \u00a0We have also been having good success using minnow and stonefly patterns. \u00a0Top water has been very good toward the evenings and early morning. \u00a0Top water patterns we have been using include; adult stoneflies, chew toys, elk hair caddis, Salmon flies and stimulators. \u00a0There is nothing like seeing a large Rainbow trout smash a top water fly. \u00a0We have had the odd Rainbow Trout hammer our strike indicators. \u00a0If this happens swap over to a large dry fly, it will pay off. \u00a0The best fly fishing on the Birkenhead River has been on the section called the Flats. \u00a0The flats are located 3 km North of the Bridge that crosses the river on Portage road. \u00a0Another good option is to stop by Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd.<\/a> at 1380 birch street in Downtown Pemberton, BC. \u00a0They have maps of the Birkenhead River and all of the gear you could possible use on the River. \u00a0There staff are more than willing to share a few hot spots along the river with you.<\/p>\n

In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. In 1976 My Father \"Ivan Knowles\" opened Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, and how fitting he had his two boys running the shop who were both very avid in hunting, camping and most of all ... fishing. Everyday people from all over the World would come in and get the local scoop, buy their gear and be off to catch fish. Later on My local knowledge and ability to help people catch fish would come in handy. Soon I ventured away from the family business to work as a angling guide for 5 years. In those 5 years I stared in my own fishing show called ELITE FISHING which was seen by 100,000 people a week on Whistler Cable. I have made a name for myself as the man to see if you want to catch fish. Now back working at Spud Valley Sporting Goods Ltd, \"The Family Business\", I love working with my brother Sheridan and father Ivan. Also a proud member of the fisheries committee for Pemberton Wildlife Association - helping make local decisions on local fisheries.
