Welcome to Pemberton, BC one of the Safest, Cleanest and Friendliest Villages in the World.
Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada would like to welcome you to our small Wild West themed village nestled deep within the Coastal Mountain ranges of the Canadian Pacific Ocean. Pemberton has a population of approximately 2500 people and in the past was built on logging, with a few families farming Potatoes hence the Nickname "Spud Valley". Now Pemberton is a bedroom community for Whistler, BC and relies on Tourism dollars. There is a rising community of Organic Farmers in the Area because people understand the importance of locally grown organic produce.
One of the first things you will notice upon arrival to the valley is the Giant Mountain called Mt. Currie. Pemberton until the early 1960's was only accessible by train. Highway 99 changed everything, suddenly you could access Pemberton by vehicle. This helped the logging industry and in turn opened the back country up via Forest service roads. Forest service roads brought forest service campsites, trail heads, view points and access to many of the Lakes and Mountains in the area.
If you like the outdoors, Camping, Fishing, Golfing, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Swimming, Horseback riding and Hunting you will definitely like our quiet and safe little town of Pemberton.
Pemberton takes pride in being the Seed Potato Capital of the World. This is made possible by producing virus free seed potatoes for the World. If you have a chance to try some locally grown potatoes, jump at the opportunity. You will never try better tasting Potatoes.
